Process
Deep hole drilling with a single-lip drill
The single-lip drilling (ELB) procedure, most commonly known as Gundrilling, is utilized in the diameter range from approx. 0.7 to 40mm (0.03 – 1.6 inch). By design, coolant lubricant (KSS) is routed through the drill and injected at the cutting edge to flush the bore. The lubrication-chip mixture is removed through a longitudinal groove on the outer tool shaft.
