Ultra-fine filtration for maximum quality at minimum operating cost

The honing process requires thorough cooling, flushing and lubrication of the machining area. Only then can the high quality requirements for honed bores be achieved in a reliable process. Prerequisite is that honing oil arrives at the point of machining at the correct temperature and optimally cleaned.
KADIA meets these requirements with the HFF coolant lubricant filter system designed specifically for this purpose. HFF stands for Honing Fine Filtration system. The unit operates with several filter towers based on the principle known as gap filtration. The honing oil is pressed through a large number of filter discs and the dirt particles are filtered out at the edges. The nominal filter rating is 5 to 7 µm, well below the usual values of >20 µm in band filter systems with filter fleece.
The filter towers are cleaned by backflushing fully automatically without any interruption to the honing process. The service life of the filters is up to three years, depending on the material and dirt load. The dirt particles are discharged into a 60-liter sludge drum via an integrated scraper conveyor with a low residual moisture content and virtually unmixed. This guarantees favorable disposal costs.
Thanks to its continuously high filtration quality, the HFF not only optimally supports the honing process, but also extends the service life of the honing oil many times over, thus saving money. In addition, clean honing oil ensures a long service life for honing tools, fixtures and machine components, thereby reducing maintenance costs over the entire life cycle of the honing machine.
The HFF systems have been specially developed and tested for our KADIOL 50 and KADIOL 90 honing oils and are suitable for all KADIA honing machines with up to three honing spindles.
